My husband and I were seriously considering getting a juicer for a while.  The idea is that we would get nutrients from plants more quickly and easily because they are concentrated down in juice form.  There are some very nice juicers out there, and we still consider it from time to time.  But since discovering this smoothie, made with just a blender and your favorite fresh produce, we find we can do without a juicer.  Besides, juicing by its nature is the process of removing fiber from from all those lovely greens and fruit.  We want all the fiber we can get!

and find the smoothie you like best.  The idea is to start with a base of a whole bunch of greens, and then add fruits that will sweeten the greens until the smoothie is delicious.  Also try different amounts of water–less for a thick shake consistency, more for a juice-like smoothie.  Lastly, don’t be afraid to blend.  Blend, blend, blend!  And then blend some more.  You want your smoothie to be a very nice even color and consistency, so blend for at least 3 minutes.
